Brazilian Blowout Found Toxic – Don’t Jeopardize Your Health

Oregon OSHA discovered formaldehyde in a concentration greater than 8% in the popular hair straightening product Brazilian Blowout. The manufacturer claims no formaldehyde is used in their product. Hair stylists using the product began experiencing burning sensations in their eyes, nose and throat which prompted the investigation into the product’s contents.

According to the Illinois Department of Health:  “Animal studies have shown increased nasal cancers in rats and mice who inhaled high levels of formaldehyde for a long time. Because of this, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has classified formaldehyde as a probable human carcinogen (cancer causing agent). This means there is enough evidence that formaldehyde causes cancer in animals, but not enough evidence that it causes cancer in humans. Human studies are inconclusive because it is not known whether observed increases in cancer are due to formaldehyde exposure or to other factors, such as smoking.”

These toxic ingredients in chemical hair straighteners are a very good reason to opt for the safer, non-toxic appliances like Maxiglide and Instyler. Don’t jeopardize your health with toxic products like Brazilian Blowout. If you want to straighten your hair, try the proven Maxiglide or Instyler.
